At Berkelo, our goal is to create delicious food, from sustainable produce, creating happiness for our customers and supporting healthier local communities in the process.
We believe simple food is the best food and we like to let ingredients speak for themselves. No refined sugars or sweeteners are ever used in our kitchen—instead we turn to raw honey and rapadura cane sugar. Berkelo's naturally leavened loaves do not contain any commercial yeast or additives. Our long-fermented breads spend no fewer than eighteen hours cold fermenting before being baked on stone.
In our bakery, food is made for sharing. Enjoy a sourdough loaf, a selection of croissants or treat yourself to a packet of chocolate hazelnut biscuits.
At Berkelo we promote the knowledge of baking. Book one of our classes (we expect them to return in 2021) and learn the art of baking sourdough, or stock your pantry with our homemade, preservative-free essentials.
